Grudge Match
This multi media installation is based on personal experience which depicts two figures freestyle wrestling with in a hichschool gymnasium. The miniature diaorama/stop-motion set exists with in an oversized bunkbed intending to make reference to boyhood rivalry. Two mascot costumes, a |Buffalo, and Cougar hang off this structure and are reintroduced in a peformative manner with in the miniature gym. Two drawers from beneath the bed are displayed open with environments based on Highschool memories. A 4 min stop-motion animation of two males freestyle wrestling is projected on a wall in a life size scale. There is an intended scale shift that takes place. This animation originates from personal experience as a highschool wrestler. This piece is part of a larger body of work based on past friendships, boyhood, communication, and an investigation of my generation. The completed series is planned to exhibit in 2013.
